incommunicado

Plainclothes security personnel arrested them on January 1 from Hilong and kept them incommunicado in detention until their release.

Is the word "incommunicado" positioned correctly?

I think it's okay. But I have trouble with "from Hilong." What's that about? It makes no sense to me.

Also, I'd consider "in detention" redundant. "Kept them incommunicado until their release" gives the same information, I believe. You might say, "kept them detained incommunicado until their release," but "detained" doesn't add much. You can be detained without be
