Incidents and Incidence

Hi,

"Since incidents and incidence are homophones, there is confusion on when to use each."
I've never had that confusion, especially with regard to pronunciation, is it that frequent?

People mix up "instance(s)", "instant(s)", "incident(s)" and "incidence". The one I hear most often, probably, is people saying "incidences" when they mean "instances".
