Vocabulary

'Inauguration' vs. 'grand opening'

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for the right expression conveying the meaning of 'inauguration' or 'grand opening', and I'm not sure whether I can use either of them, or have to use something completely different instead.

This is the context:

1. a company that has a network of shops (perfumeries) is opening their largest shop which happens to be the largest shop of this type (i.e. largest perfumery) in the whole country;
2. the event is going to be festive and celebratory;
3. the expression I'm looking for should be possible to use in a formal (letter / email of) invitation;

The general template text of the invitation could be similar to this:

Dear business partners,

Please, accept my invitation to the inauguration / grand opening / [something else] of the largest [shop type] in the [country] which is being opened by [company] in the shopping centre [name] in [city].

I look forward to seeing you.

etc.

Many thanks for any advice!

P.

Thank you!

While I like your suggestion, I wonder if using 'opening' and 'opened' in the same sentence might be perceived as repetitive:

[...] inaugural grand ope

If you don't want to use "opening" and "opened" in the same sentence, you might say instead something like:

"Please accept my invitation to the inaugural grand opening of ____ Company's newest _____ store, in the _____ Shopping Center in _____ . It will be the largest ____ store in ____ ."

Please, accept my invitation is slightly awkward. Consider this alternative
