The problem here is that this sentence is for a scientific text and it is important that the content of the sentence is perfectly accurate...To make it more clear: The whole text is about certain types of calls to a helpline and their frequency of occurrence.

For example, I can't write "60% of callers" when I am referring to "60% of calls".

Well, almost. I would use half of each sentence to form a more complete statement: Out of xy calls, 60% of the callers behave aggressively. That would make a tangible mathematical statement A = (60%) (x y).
