In which they are working or they work

I heard that it is feasible to use present continuous tense to talk about some repeated actions. Therefore, I found a dilemma between present tense and present continuous tense. So, please tell me what the correct form.

Older workers not only have excellent domain knowledge of the industry in which they work / they are working, but they also have invaluable experience.

Both are possible. If I had to choose, I would favour "work", since "are working" can sometimes have a nuance that this may not be a permanent situation, whereas the rest of the sentence seems to be saying that they are long-term workers in the same industry. I am not sure about the term "domain knowledge".

  • If you know that this is correct jargon in the relevant field then it could be OK.
  • Otherwise, I would delete the word "domain".
