Hi. This is the entry I got when I looked up the word "extraneous" on naver.com's dictionary.
Extraneous things are not relevant or essential to the situation you are involved in or the subject you are talking about.[ FORMAL ]
I think we can put the word "that" between the words "situation" and "you." Can we rewrite it like this? Please look at the underlined part.
