I wanted to know if my grammar and punctuation is good enough for complex topics like the one I'm discussing below. Can you please read the text below and see if I'm lacking in any areas? Can you advise me on and correct my sentence structure, wording, paragraphs, punctuation, etc.?
Context: This was written as an answer on Quora to a question about black magic and the Bible:
You would actually need to prove that black magic is effective. Do you have scientific proof of black magic or have you taken polls to see how many people successfully did black magic?
Yes, the Bible does say to stay away from black magic.
Here are some Old Testament verses from the Bible:
Among divination, fortune telling, omen interpretation, charming, and necromancy, sorcery which is another name for black magic or magic in general, is listed as a sin and a practice among the sinful nations that existed prior to Joshua’s conquest.
“There shall not be found among you . . . anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD. And because of these abominations the LORD your God is driving them out before you.” — Deuteronomy 18:10-12
King Manasseh is condemned for heinous acts. He is also condemned for sorcery as well as fortune-telling, omens, and dealing with mediums and necromancers.
“And he burned his sons as an offering in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, and used fortune-telling and omens and sorcery, and dealt with mediums and with necromancers. He did much evil in the sight of the LORD, provoking him to anger.“ — 2 Chronicles 33:6
In this verse, sorcerers are judged by God, indicating that sorcery is a sin.
“Then I will draw near to you for judgment. I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers“ — Malachi 3:5
Now let’s jump to the New Testament, which also has input on sorcery:
Here, Paul the Apostle, a man who was spoken to by God, condemns black magic and says that people who practice it will not inherit the Kingdom of God. The “Kingdom of God” is heaven. In other words, people who practice magic will burn in hell, because the only other place where people can go if it is not heaven after they die is hell.
The people who interpret the verse below say that, when it says not to do sorcery, the Greek word was used to mean or imply drug usage, imply drug usage in sorcery. Although I am not qualified to give input on the Greek word’s meaning, I also believe that the people who say that it is speaking of drug usage are susceptible to bias, for the authors of my source below, as well as many others who make this claim, tend to be evangelical Christians, people who, by a large margin, are vehemently opposed to drugs. So, that is a reason to be skeptical of their claims, but I am not qualified to address the Greek, so you will need to research that yourself or talk to a Biblical Greek scholar.
“Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife . . . and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God” — Galatians 5:19-21
In the verse below, in the end times, the “Spiritual Babylon, which represents something unknown (the people in my source below say that the spiritual Babylon represents a “future religious system,” but that is a baseless claim which tends to be make by fundamentalists), will deceive people with magic spells. Magic spells are a form of magic, and magic as a whole, including black magic, is condemned by the Bible.
“The light of a lamp will never shine in you again. The voice of bridegroom and bride will never be heard in you again. Your merchants were the world's important people. By your magic spell all the nations were led astray.” — Revelation 18:23
Here, in the book of Revelation, “those who practice magic arts,” among people who practice sins that are repeatedly and exhaustively condemned in the Bible, will burn in the Lake of Fire. That “magic arts” is condemned in such a way and that people who practice it will receive such punishment shows that, obviously, God does not approve of it. (Another related verse about the Lake of Fire and people who practice magic arts is in my source below.)
“But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars-they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death." — Revelation 21:8
