I would be confused by that one and would have to ask 'What do you mean?'

I 'm looking for some simple example sentences where you can replace the combo of a preposition and an interrogative pronoun (e.g. in which) with an interrogative adverb "where," like "Why did you do it?" and "What did you do it for?/For what did you do it?" in the case of "why."
