IN VS. OF IN SUPERLATIVE FORMS

Could you please tell me the difference btween
"He's the best runner IN the world." and "He's the best runner OF the workld?

He is the best runner of (among) his friends.

I hope you can see the difference in the usage.

Hi,

To me, that doesn't work, because 'he' is not part of the group called 'his friends'.



I suggest that a better example would be 'He is the best runner of the team', where 'he' is one of the members of the team.
