In two weeks or two weeks later

Hi. What is the difference? Or perhaps, I should ask, "What is the correct way to ask?" To me, no. 2 is stylistically awkward.

(after saying good bye to a friend)

1. Bye, Joe. I will see you in two weeks.

2. Bye, Joe. I will see you two weeks later.
