In turn?

The number of private vehicles adds to the density of traffic which in turn has the potential to aggravate this situation.
Is this sentence correct and is this a correct use of 'in turn'?

Top answer

Yes, it's all correct (assuming "this situation" refers to something previously mentioned), except that I would add a comma after "traffic".
