In time/on time/timely

Hello,

I'm a bit confused by the usage of in time/on time/timely.

eg.

I always hand in homework in time.

I always hand in homework on time.

I always hand in homework timely.

Which sentence is correct? And could anyone tell me the usual context in which these 3 phrases are used respectively?

Thanks in advance!
