"in this summer" or "this summer"?

Hi all,

I know we shouldnt add "in" before "this sunday", for example
so,
I will study this sunday.

But do we need to add "in" before "this summer", "this semester"...?
Like,
1. We will go to Japan this summer
2. We will go to Japan in this summer

1. We study together this semester
2. We study together in this semester

Thanks !!!
