Marketing support would essentially be advertising and advance calls on customers by the sales staff promoting the line - IMHO.

"The expected level" means he doesn't know how much support there will be.

I give it to you. You receive it from me.

The company/customers support the product. The product receives (or will receive) the support from the company/customers.

Marketing support is mainly advertising, which the company pays for.
