In this case, having prepared or preparing?

the action happened in a few days ago. and I shipped a sample to my customer. which is correct?

1 There was no update due to it was in the Customs of US having prepared for custom clearance.

2 There was no update due to it was in the Customs of US preparing for custom clearance
