In the weak sense of a denial?!

Hi. I cannot quite understand the highlighted part in the following passage. Can you please help me figure it out? Thank you very much.

"The second way to tolerate an opinion that we believe to be morally wrong would be to

(2) Not voice the disagreement, although we disagree.

This would amount to not saying publicly that the moral opinion in question is wrong, whatever our private thoughts. It is possible to consistently tolerate a moral opinion in sense (2). An example might be an unruly public gathering when to voice our disagreement would be to incite a violent riot. Our freedom to voice our disagreement here must be sacrificed to
preserve the freedom of the others to live.Toleration in sense (2) is thus sometimes justifiable. But usually not.
We do have a right to voice our disagreement, to be intolerant in the weak
sense of a denial (2). Further, we have a duty to exercise this right."

Hello!

It certainly seems like an odd construction to me.
What I understand of it is this:

'Denying the opinions of others that we find to be morally wrong by voicing our objections is intolerant, but only in a weak sense of the word.'

i.e. 'You're not really being intolerant of others by voicing your own opinion that contradict theirs.'

You're welcome!
I've just noticed that my final sentence is missing an 's' and should read:
'You're not really being intolerant of others by voicing your own opinion that contradicts theirs.'

Ahem.

I think the writer of this article is not a native speaker of English. I encounter more and more of these incomprehensible structures as I read on. Thank you for you attention.
