In the third league

Hi,
"Our team played in the third league." Does it sound correct? Can we use the word "league" in this context? (soccer context).

Best regards,
Kamil

Hi Clive,
Thank you for help. What happens when we're thinking of a league from some other country? Should it be also called Third Division?

Hi,

No. A league is commonly divided into divisions. But there are many different leagues.

egg This is the third league he has played in.
