  • Hi, I was at Barcelona in the summer of 2008.
  • I was at Barcelona in the summer in 2008.
  • Are they both possible to say?
  • Yes, but 'of 2008' has style and the close repetition of 'in' does not.
  • We usually say 'in a city', not 'at a city'.
