In the red

Could everyone explain clearly the meanting of phrase " in the red" and ' in the pink" ih this sentence please.

If you owe money to a bank, you are in the red. Also, if a person or a business is in the red, it means they are losing money.

If someone is in the pink, they are in good health.

"in the red" = not making a profit, losing money
"in the black" = making a profit.

The idioms come in accounting, where a negative number (a loss) was written in red ink, and a positive number ( a profit) was written in black ink.
