It is a fact that, nowadays, more and more people settle down in big cities whilst back to the past, a great number of individuals chose to live in a small community in which they could know every resident. Living in a small area created some advantages and disadvantages.

It can be said that living in a small community had some noteworthy positive effects. The most principal benefits was help and support from everyone else. Folks in small villages obviously knew every habitant well, so they could detect someone’s problems, care and help him or her very quickly and in time. Another strong point was that it would benefit the environment. The fact that the less the areas have been populated, the cleaner the environment is was an evident strength for this trend years ago. Less people produced less pollutants, which handicapped and slowed the spread and level of global warmth or the Green House effects.

However, this lifestyle was not completely beneficial; there were some negative aspects that should be taken into consideration. First, that almost all village citizens knew and cared about each other could result in lack of privacy. It was common in small provinces that people were interested in the others’ marital status, jobs and the income. Obviously, those friendly but nosy neighbors were annoying and irritating. Another drawback could be that those small quiet peaceful places had only a few public services and entertainments. There wasn’t much to see or do and business and service buildings were often located miles away. This affected on education, job opportunities and health care as well as bored keen explorers.

In conclusion, while living in small villages could bring about certain upsides on helpful communities and environment, but the downsides would emerge consequently in terms of privacy and poor services and entertainments.
