In the or on the?

I have a quick grammar question.

Is it

achievement on the SATs

OR

achievement in the SATs?

It seems like "in the" and "on the" are both being used in different literature.

Can someone explain which one is right?

How about..."shown in the test results" or "shown on the test results"?

Neither is wrong. What sounds best often depends on the rest of the sentence.

Other possibilities include 'by'.
