In the old day(s) and in the old time(s)

1) In the past, the earth was different from now.

2) In the old day(s) , the earth was different from now.

3) In the old tiime(s),the earth was different from now.

In the above context, is it plural or singular for the words " day and time"

'In the old days' usually refers to a time in the speaker's past that the speaker, and often the listener, both have memories of.

eg We have been been ill for many years, but in the old days we had fun doing lots of sports at school.

#1 is OK. (Actually I've always had a slight doubt about whether "different from now" logically makes sense. The earth wan't different from "now", it was different from the way it is now. But everyone, including me, says "different from now", so just ignore that!)

#2 is OK with "days" (not "day").

#3 is not so natural to me. "The old times" is OK in itself, but it doesn't seem t
