Hello.
Which is the proper choice in this sentence? Are they both correct?

She risked walking alone in the night / at night.

You need "at night". That's the better choice.
"in the night" is not exactly incorrect, but people don't normally say it that way.

They are both correct.

at night This is what is commonly said. Rishonly is right.

in the night This is not part of common, everyday speech. It's more poetic, more literary. It's more descriptive, it makes you think of the person 'surrounded by the darkness of the night'. 'At night' makes you think more of the time.
