In the modern world, the image (photograph or film) is becoming a more powerful way of communicating than the written word. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

In the modern era, the image such as photograph or film is likely to become a more dominant means of communicating compared to the traditional writing way. I acquiesce in this viewpoint in some extent.

There are numerous reasons that makes the illustration the better way of communicating. Firstly, it is a more visible and understandable way to express what to impart. For instance, if a person wants to describe how beautiful and magnificent a destination is, it is a better choice to take a picture rather than to write an essay. Secondly, it is undeniable that using the image to communicate is much more convenient. Unlike the written word, it doesn't take a huge amount of time to take a photograph, which makes it become less time-consuming but still, very effective.

On the other hand, the traditional written word still has certain impact on the way people communicate. The image is very visible and obvious to understand, however, it can not be used alone. One observable example is that companies always use pictures or films along with captions, headlines or commentaries on their advertisements. Without the use of written word, the meanings of the image can be misunderstood and hard to approach, reducing the effect of spreading information.

In sum, although the image namely photograph, film or picture is becoming prevailing as a means of communicating in modern society, the written word still has particular importance in support the efficiency of using the image and can not be abandoned.
