In the midst of preparing...

Do we really need to put "in the midst of preparing the documents...."? I thought the "preparing" word itself shows that they are doing the work now.


But if you thing it is necessary to put in "in the midst....", why so?


Does it also apply to "He is currently working in AAA"?
