Vocabulary

in the middle ground/...?

Hi,

Is it OK to use the phrase "in the middle ground" to refer to what is between the foreground and background?

Is it possible to talk in MORE detail about different positions of objects in a picture?

Hi demicjusz, I haven't heard the expression used that way. I usually hear it as a political term indicating someone's position as neither left nor right, but somewhere in the center - or possibly in negotiations between two parties or groups where a compromise position is being sought. I'm neither a photographer nor a painter, and I don't know what terminology photographers use in the connection you suggested.
