Sentence1:

I'm not an English grammar guru so you should wait for one for the official answer.

However, as a reader with a technical background, I like #2 which has the comparison of numbers closer together instead of separated with that qualifying clause. Also, to my ear, #2 sounds "smoother" with more continuity.
