In the hot

Is it correct to say “in the hot”. “In the cold” is correct, right?

Would you rather play football in the cold or in the hot?

Thanks

The relationship is asymmetrical.

I feel cold. It's cold outside. I don't like the cold. Play in the cold.
I feel hot. It's hot outside. I don't like the heat. Play in the heat.
