Some people assert that soon everybody will stop purchasing physical newspapers and books since they can get all the information they need from online sources for free. While it is true that you can find mostly everything on the Internet, there are still some disadvantages of this and I believe that people would still appreciate the pleasure of flipping pages of newspapers or books.
On the one hand, the Internet has been providing endless material for everyone at the lowest cost. There are a variety of news sources online, such as online newspaper, social media and blogs. Most of these are free, except for some particular newspapers' subscriptions, and readers surely can read anytime, anywhere and at one's own pace. On top of that, people can also save articles to read later.
However, there are still a plethora of reasons backing the inevitable existence of traditional newspaper or books. Firstly, the old-fashioned way of collecting information or news is still greatly needed by the older generation who prefer papers or the underprivileged who cannot afford the Internet. Without these paper sources, a huge amount of the population will be at the verge of being illiterate. Secondly, people who purchase newspaper every morning or a newly released book experienced pure excitement that they are unlikely to get from the screens of electronic devices. Finally, any country and its citizens deserve professional journalism in which they can obtain verified, explicit and well-organised pieces of information. The Internet is undoubtedly useful to search for news, though anyone can post anything they want without being vetted, thus making it unreliable to an extent.
In conclusion, the world is changing in favour of new technology and reading material is also not an exception. Nevertheless, I believe books and newspaper will be timeless.
