In the face of the inevitable question

Hello.

Are the following sentences grammatically correct?

"In the face of the inevitable question, Tim spoke dubiously in order to buy some time to continue searching desperately for an answer that could appease the negative impact this could have. However, he was abruptly interrupted by his friend."

Thanks.
