In the case in which : PART 2

This is a follow-up question for "in the case in which."

Previous comments stated that this is not common.

But I found 85million google hits for this phrase.

Is this not common in normal use for common in formal writing?

Please help. I have been using this pharase all over my work papers, and I am scared that people have been laughing behind my back for using it. Emotion: sad
