He's rather quick-tempered, he takes after his father 'in that'.
Is this correct, to imply that he gets it from his father?

I think some speakers find that acceptable, but it doesn’t sound right to me (AmE). I’d expect in that way/regard/respect . (He’s rather quick tempered .
