The iphone must be modified such that it is faster.
They are equally proper. The more natural, idiomatic way to express that thought is:

The iphone must be modified to make it faster.

Hello CJ,

I came upon this. In your reply you say they 2 original sentences are both correct?
Aren't they missing the verb 'become' as Mister Micawber pointed out or did you overlook that? I'm reading it over and over and can't make sense of it.

Thank you

No; I was just substituting a more appropriate verb; CJ's sentence is MUCH better and more natural.

so it is correct grammar to say "in such a way that it is faster". I'm trying to make sense of it but I can't.

I really don't know what it means to make a phone faster.
Perhaps it connects to the phone service provider faster, turns on faster or runs apps faster.

Anonymousso it is correct grammar to say "in such a way that it is faster".
Yes. It's a bit awkward (cf: 'so that it's faster') that's all.
