In spite of your age, you are very active.

Hi

A young man, while conversing with an elderly gentleman, is trying to appreciate him because he exercises regularly and keeps himself active and healthy. So, the younger guy says something like -

In spite of your age, you are very active.

Does the first part of this sentence sound rude?

If so, please help me re-phrase the statement.

Thank you.
