Hi all. I have wondered which of the following strucutures is correct for long:

1) assist someone in something, in something and in something

2) assist someone in something, something and something

For instance, please help check which of the following sentences is correct:

3) I aspire in assisting the depressed people in overcoming their hardships, realizing their full potential, and living their lives to the fullest.

4) I aspire in assisting the depressed people in overcoming their hardships, in realizing their full potential, and in living their lives to the fullest.

5) I like swimming in the swimming pool, the lake, and the ocean.

6) I like swimming in the swimming pool, in the lake, and in the ocean.

Thank you indeed!

Hi, The inclusion of in in each of your sentences is not wrong, but I think it makes them sound stilted. In my opinion, the sentences flow more freely without repeating the word in over and over again. Regards
