In some countries young people are encouraged to work or travel for a year between finishing high school and starting university studies.

Nowadays, to reduce stress and resetting feeling of student after they have finished in high school, the government of some countries motivates the young people taking a year to work or travel before they start at university.

Why we should work or travel for a year between finishing high school and starting university studies? In my opinion, we will have more knowledge in life when we return. At that time, we can get experience which we can compare what we studied in school with what we have to face in the real life. Moreover, when we finished a gap year, we will be confident to decide to do something. For example, we can stand in front of many people to present something while the others, who do not have a gap year, are more passive and inferiority. Furthermore, that is the time we can think about ourselves, our dream and who we want to become.

On the other hand, everything has not only advantages but also disadvantages. There will be some troubles in our trip such as we can be stolen our properties by the thieves while we are traveling so it is difficult for us to contact people who can help us. One more reason is language, we will get some problems when we go to abroad if we do not have good languages. Moreover, someone does not understand about meaning of gap year so they waste a year for something which has not any benefit. They do not experience and then they cannot become better people.

In conclusion, I would maintain that a year between after finishing high school and starting university that is very necessary for young people because what learn in the society as importantly as at school.
