Essay & Composition Writing

In some countries, more young adults continue to live with their parents even after they have completed education and found jobs. Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?

Young people tend to live with their parents even though they have graduated and are working. I think this phenomenon leads to many adverse effects than benefits for them.

On the one hand, one of the benefits is that young people can receive financial support from their parents while they still live at their parents’ house. They do not have many anxieties when living alone such as renting, electronic, water fees and other surcharges because their parents have already taken over these issues. This helps/ supports young people can have more chances/ opportunities to save money and ensure their budget. Thus, the youth only need to concentrate on working and using their budget for investing into the future.

On the other hand, there are some disadvantages for the youth when they still live with their parents in adulthood. Firstly/ First of all, this is a dependent life in that people are not able to learn how to be self-reliant in their life. Although people found a satisfactory job or finished studying, they may not have an obvious target to follow and make effort such as building their own career or planning for their future because of their parents’ support. As a consequence, young people will become lose the motivation to improve themselves and develop their careers in their life. Secondly/ Furthermore, the youth also lack privacy when they live in their parents’ house. Almost parents still treat their offspring like children, they supervise and create restricted rules that are not suitable for the lifestyle of adults like a curfew. Therefore, young people may have difficulty expanding their relationships in work or life.

In conclusion, people still argue about youngers continue to live with their parents after graduating and finding a job. Nevertheless, I believe this phenomenon may lead to many disadvantages for youngsters in developing and improving themselves in their adulthoods.
