Essay & Composition Writing

In some countries, more and more adults are continuing to live with their parents even after they have completed education and found jobs. Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?

It is true that an increasing number of young adults tend to live with their families although they have graduated or found stable jobs. While being supported with living expenses and renting fees by parents can be seen as the fundamental merits of this tendency, I strongly believe that these are eclipsed by the drawbacks regarding their ability to be self-sufficient.

On the one hand, grown people are unwilling to live apart from home as they are received financial supports from their parents. Some adults may plan to rent or purchase their private home perhaps even to start a family, thus they should accumulate a sum of money to afford those things. To illustrate, parents can help young people to pay overhead costs and various bills, hence they can spend all saving money for their future without being hesitant and concerned

On the other hand, there are two primary minus points relating to adults' independence and parental rest period. Firstly, young adults should face all the challenges and take responsibility for their own life in order to become more mature and independent. For example, when young people start their own family, they must make a calculation about how they are capable of making ends meet and running their family home. Secondly, from the perspective of parents, they want to have more time for themselves when finishing their responsibilities. After supplying their children with higher education fees and helping them to pursue a successful career, parents now should be rested and relaxed in the final stage of life.

In conclusion, although living under the same roof with parents has some advantages, I insist that the disadvantages of this outweigh its plus points when considering adult’s self-sufficiency and parent’s end of life relaxation
