In some countries, men are told not to cry. Why? Do you agree or disagree with it?

It is true that in some nations, males are expected not to express their emotions such as crying. While I accept that there are some reasons for this, I would argue that it is better to encourage them to let their emotion out.

On the one hand, the main reason is that in some countries, men are believed to represent for power and strength. Therefore, it is unacceptable for men to cry because crying is seen as a sign of weakness. For example, in eastern nations, males are taught not to cry from their childhood, even if being fallen down or getting hurt. Because there is a traditional thinking suggested that men should keep their emotions for themselves.

On the other hand, by contrast, I believe that males should be encouraged to cry more because a growing body of research suggests that crying has many health benefits. Crying is a natural response to let our emotion out; therefore, it can help to improve mood and reduce stress. For instance, in a family that men are the sole breadwinners, they are facing with much stressful problems. Emotional tears may help to reduce their own distress and relax in their daily lives.

In conclusion, for the reasons I have mentioned above, I strongly believe that we should not prevent males from crying and should give them more chances to express their emotions.
