In September following ?

In September following 2005, I learned how to drive a car.

Is it September of 2005 or of 2006? Can you give me some help?

Much thanks!

Hi, In September following 2005, I learned how to drive a car. It's not really an acceptable sentence. Why not just say 'in September 2006'?
