In respect of

I found a sentence as follows;

It's a pity that so many people tend to think only in terms of money.

I've got two questions about the sentence.

?Is it possible to replace "in terms of" with "in respect of" in this sentence?

If not, could you possibly explain why it's not?

?What is the difference between "in respect of" and "with respect to?"

The preposition that we use in such standard and common phrases is pretty arbitrary. Most people say with respect to because that is what most people say! Clive
