In relation /proportion / as to and ENOUGH /TO MEAN(ing)

Could you please take a look at this?

1 The rent is too high in relation/proportion to our salary.
2 I'm not so hungry as to eat that./I'm not hungry enough to eat that. (can you use the 1st option?)
3 The shirt is too big at the shoulders/is perfect at the shoulders

is this OK please? complicated i think

4 He used the word xxxx to mean yyyyyy. (can you use TO MEAN like that?)
5 Can you use this word in that way/like that? (whats the difference?)
6 Is xxxxxx the word you'd use in the sentence to describe what I'm trying to describe. (is it ok to use DESCRIBE twice?)
