In regard to elements of academic paper writing

Hi. Please help.

1. How should we write the part "see page XX for diagram" if it is to be part of a sentence in an academic paper/article? Could any of these be correct? I think that for the content in the parentheses being an instruction, English articles could be omitted.

2. Would you say giving examples in parentheses in an academic paper is stylistically good?

Would it be better if written like this?

To me, such as gives a smoother flowing sentence. There is one less break with a comma. The meaning is the same.
