In recent decades, the migration of people into cities has caused the cost of land and housing to increase dramatically. What problems are associated with a lack of affordable housing? What solutions can you propose?

In recent years, urbanization has led to an increase in the number of people who are moving from rural areas to cities. This phenomenon has created a substantial demand on purchasing homes. There are significant problems associated with a quick increase of people who migrate to big cities that need to buy a house that require solutions.

The main challenge related to a lack of affordable housing in cities is a dramatic rise of homelessness and slums. This means these affordable houses can solve the problem for many inhabitants migrate to city that need a place to live and the money, which they pay for these houses, is not over-priced. In fact, the number of affordable houses in current years is inadequate. The result of this is that many people do not have houses to live and they have to live in slums where the amount of pollution rises and there is poor sanitation. More seriously, the streets and pavements are the place where they sleep every night.

However, there are two solutions to this challenge. The government should invest in the building of new affordable homes or low-priced apartments because of the basic demand of people. They cannot live without home. Besides, when people migrate to bigger cities, they want to find an opportunity for a good job, therefore local governments should contact businesses to support jobs that suit with their ability. This is because the amount of workforce in rural areas is significant and they will contribute the increasing GDP of a nation.

In my opinion, the best resolution to the issue of insufficient affordable housing for people migrate to bigger cities is the development of cheap apartments and more affordable houses. If governments continue to ignore these issues, the impacts will be more serious in the future.
