In plain words...

Hi everybody,

This sentence doesn't seem to have been written by a native speaker, does it? Anyway, can someone explain its meaning to me in plain words? I have no idea what hold out means here.

ACL will at no times hold itself out as being the agent of CREC.

Thanks

Basically, 'pretend that it is', 'claim that it is'.

Does it mean that ACL will not represent CREC in any way?

Hi,

We don't offer legal advice.

But if someone said that sentence to me, that would be my understanding.
