In other day, in past, or a few weeks ago?

- We already promised before that we would get dinner with our 2 teachers.

Is this sentence grammatically okay? I feel that "before" is a little odd.
Do I have to change to " in other day", "in past", " a few weeks ago",or " last time?

Thank you in advance for your teaching.
