Is this sentence natural?
Can you use in order with would?
In order to maximize the time of my training, it would be better if you slept on sight.

If you switch it around, the 2 clause don't seem to go together.

It would be better if you slept on sight in order to maximize the time of my training

The phrase: " It would be better if ..." has a conditional tone which does not tyically go with "in order to" from an idiomatic persepctive.
