In or On Page5

A quick one again.

What would you say if you are referring to a photo in a newspaper, for example, a photo "in" page5 or "on" page5?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks, Nona. I've just googled to see "on page 5" to "in page 5" as about 1,700,000 to 30,000. This solidly goes to support your post. Thanks, again.

Just a few further queries popped in my mind. Does the same thing apply to books, as in

[1] I saw this weird word on the page 95 of "History of Asia."

Does this exclude "in" as well?

What about the following examples?

[2] I think I've seen that weird word only once in my life, and I reckon you can find it in/on the pages 5 to 20 of "History of Asia"/ the London

Don't use "the" when you give the page number.
Say "on page 56", not "on the page 56".

It's on, on, and on.
You saw something on page 25.
You can find it on pages 5 to 20.
It is used on pages 16 - 67.
There was nothing on page 405.
I wrote a few notes on page 18.

Thanks, Jim.

You don't use "the" even if you are referring to the pages of a specific book/ newspaper? Page 4 of the book, not the page 4 of the book? How about something like "Day 5 of the second trial"? Do you still not need "the"?

Thanks in advance for your help, Jim

No. No "the", even if referring to a specific book.

I saw it on page 2,576,352,088 of War and Peace.

Normally, don't use "the" when identifying numbers specify exactly which person or thing you are referring to.

It's the same with "day 5".

This is day 5 of the trial.

The identifying number acts very much like a name. "25" is, in a w

00Why is this case different than the "on page" example. Does appendix imply its own document02br

0Perhaps. In any case, an appendix is not a page, it is a section: 01i01b00in02b00 the table of contents; 01b00in02b00 the preface; 01b00in02b00 Chapter 13;01b00 in02b00 the appendix, 01b00in02b00 the index02i00, etc.0-
