In or on a test

Hi,

"She scored ten points in/on the last test."

"She told us what will come up in/on the test."

"She said that the second chapter would also be in/on the test."

Is it true that 'in' is used in British English and 'on' in American English or does the use of 'in' and 'on' overlap in this case?

Thank you.

Ann225 Is it true that 'in' is used in British English and 'on' in American English or does the use of 'in' and 'on' overlap in this case? I am a BrE speaker and, for me, "in" is the natural choice. In your last sentence "on" seems quite strange to me.
