Hello,
I grew up on/in the streets of London (meaning I grew up homeless in London).
If I lose my job, I'd be forced to live on/in the streets for a while.
In these cases indicating homelessness, which is right -in or on? Or is 'on' American English and 'IN' British? Some clarification would help, thanks.
